2012 coues buck

Well after a long January of hunting in freezing temperatures it comes to an end.  This morning (Jan 23rd) was supposed to be my last day of hunting for the season and it would be.  Starting about 8 a.m. I started seeing deer, and by 9:30 I had my first shot.  I t was a good buck I had been seeing for a while and he had been chasing a doe around all morning.  Finally the third time he came into sight on the day he presented a 35 yard quartering away shot, between the adrenaline and freezing cold I was shaking like a leaf.  I let the arrow fly, but unfortunately the arrow went right over his back.
here is a pic of the buck i missed
Then about 15 minutes later my suspicions were confirmed, when the buck walked through for the forth time and he hadn't been shot.  Now after this long cold season I was pretty bummed and discouraged.  But wouldn't you know 10 minutes later this little buck walks in and give me a perfect sunny broadside shot.  It was an offer I couldn't refuse.  1 shot through the heart and 2012 season is done for me.  Now it's up to my wife and father in law to put down one of the biggins.
